In my eyes:
Tal Ofer, born in Israel 1981, lives and works in Hefer Valley. For Ofer, photography is seen as an epistemological and philosophical artistic practice, concerning its relation to perception, interpretation and subjective awareness. As the lens imitates the eye, the camera, and the act of photography, emphasize the limits of conscience and, within its boundaries, of creativity. Key concepts integrated with his work are the moment, the occurrence or the happening, meeting the moment, the point of imperfect balance in editing, and seeing the camera’s shutter as a bridge to one’s momentarily altering preconceptions of time.
The distinctive separation between the abstract and the concrete, and the processes of genuinely reflecting and of objectivity are regularly tested and critiqued in his work – admittingly to him, not always successfully – and seen as a constant challenge and as a creative struggle.
His works have been shown in various national and international solo and group exhibitions. Tal serves as a lecturer and as a teacher in various photography and art programs.
